The flickermeter based on the peak voltage detection is measuring instrument for detection and measurement of interference in the supply voltage, which causes flickering light sources. Its design is derived from the standard UIE / IEC flicker meter. The quadratic demodulation in the measuring chain is replaced by half period peak detection. This allows respond not only to rectangular or sinusoidal modulation voltage, but also detects the presence of high-frequency interharmonics components, which can also cause flickering of fluorescent lamps with electronic ballasts.
The instrument used for measuring voltage the NI cRIO platform and digitized signal processing is done in the form of virtual instrumentation in LabView.
The device is suitable for supplementing existing approaches to measuring voltage fluctuations, it provides information on the presence of high-frequency interharmonics, which can cause flickering, but can not be captured by the standard flickermeter.
